What is the Ouray Hot Springs Pool and Park?

The Ouray Hot Springs Pool and Fitness Center is a wonderful place for your family to relax after a day of Jeeping in Ouray, Colorado (which is often referred to as the "Switzerland of America"). The five hot springs are clear and geothermally heated, ranging from 75 to 104 degrees F. They hold 750,000 gallons of water!

The hot springs have:
  • One adult-only soaking section
  • Two fast water slides (you must be over 48 in. to ride, or you must pass the deep water test)
  • An obstacle course
  • A climbing wall
  • Eight lap lanes for a fulfilling workout
  • Two family pools


Since 1927, the sulfur-free mineral water of Ouray Hot Springs have provided relaxation and comfort to families and couples across the United States. The hot springs come from the Ouray Box Canyon waterfall and Ouray Ice Park. The cooler pool at this attraction gets its water from city water and the Weehawken Spring. 

Are the hot springs open?

Yes, they are open year-round.

When are they open?

The Ouray Hot Springs hours are:
  • Mon. through Fri.: 12:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sat. and Sun.: 11:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Polar Bears and Ice Cubes: Mon., Wed. and Fri. from noon to 1 p.m.
  • Lap swimming is available every day

What are the Ouray Hot Springs prices? Is it free?

The Ouray Hot Springs Pool prices or rates are:
  • Youth ages 4 through 17: $12
  • Adults ages 18 through 61: $18
  • Senior 62 through 74: $14


No refunds are allowed.

The Ouray hot springs (Colorado) are only free for children under the age of 4 or seniors over the age of 75.

Entry is based on a first-come-first-serve basis. In the past, only 175 people were allowed in the pool at a time, but, because of COVID-19, only up to 50 patrons at a time can be in the pool.

Where do I enter/exit this attraction?

At the West Gate (by the slides).

What is the mineral content in the hot springs?

Not only are hot springs relaxing, they're also known to have potential healing properties, thanks to the minerals in the water.

While these hot springs in Ouray are sulfur-free, they have other minerals like:
  • Iron
  • Manganese
  • Zinc
  • Fluoride
  • Potassium

Are the Ouray Hot Springs clothing optional?

No, these hot springs Ouray are family-friendly. However, Orvis Hot Springs is a clothing optional hot spring and spa that's located in Ridgway, Colorado, just down the road from Ouray and Telluride.

Does the pool have rules?

Some of the rules you need to follow and things you need to know when visiting the hot springs near Ouray include:
  • Staying home if you are sick
  • Wearing a face covering whenever you aren't in the water
  • Groups shall remain six feet apart from each other
  • Changing rooms are available, but there aren't areas to store your items
  • The pool doesn't offer towel or swim suit rentals
